The Box
A 50 x 50 cm box containing 8 paper sheets which was inspired by children's pop-up and tunnel books. The project theme was fears and phobias, with the inside of the box being a claustrophobic space which contained a journey through the forest inspired by fairy tale stories. Except with a twist, the inside of the box gets weirder the deeper you go as a journey into the unknown inspired by nightmares and psychedelia. Textured Spray paint and marbling effects were used for the wood panels to create an organic swamp like feel. Frosted perspex for the backplate to allow natural light to flow through the box or lighting effects can be used and Brush Pen was used for the illustrations.
The Box
A 40 x 40 cm wooden cube inspired by tunnel books and 3D paper art. This was created from a project dealing with fears and phobias with the intention of channeling a sense of claustropobic uneasyness along with elements of psychedelia and horror. Using a journey through the forest as a base with the effects getting weirder the deeper you go into the unknown. Frosted perspex is used for the back panel to allow lighting effects or natural light to seep through.
